How It Works
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
Onsavo is a self-pay telemedicine platform that connects you with independent, state-licensed healthcare providers who can review your health information and, when clinically appropriate, prescribe treatment. This page explains, step by step, how the Onsavo process works — from your first intake questionnaire to ongoing, provider-guided support.
Please read this page together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimers. Nothing on this page is medical advice. Whether any treatment is appropriate for you is a decision made solely by a licensed provider based on your individual health information.
Important: How Onsavo Is Set Up
Onsavo is a technology platform operated by [ONSAVO LEGAL ENTITY]. Onsavo is not a medical practice and is not a pharmacy. Onsavo does not practice medicine, does not diagnose conditions, and does not prescribe medications.
Medical services are provided by independent, state-licensed healthcare providers affiliated with [AFFILIATED MEDICAL GROUP]. These providers exercise their own independent clinical judgment. They are not employed by Onsavo to reach any particular outcome, and they are under no obligation to prescribe any medication.
Prescribed medications are dispensed and shipped by an independent partner compounding pharmacy, [COMPOUNDING PHARMACY], a 503A/503B pharmacy that is LegitScript-certified or NABP-accredited and licensed in [STATES SERVED]. Where lab testing is part of a program, at-home labs are processed by [CLIA LAB PARTNER], a CLIA-certified laboratory.
This means the people responsible for your care — the provider who reviews your intake and the pharmacy that prepares and ships your medication — are independent of the Onsavo platform.
The Steps at a Glance
- Complete your intake. Answer an online health questionnaire about your goals, health history, and current medications.
- A licensed provider reviews your information. An independent provider affiliated with [AFFILIATED MEDICAL GROUP] reviews your intake through telemedicine and decides whether treatment is appropriate. There is no guarantee of a prescription.
- If prescribed, your medication is dispensed and shipped. [COMPOUNDING PHARMACY] prepares your prescription and ships it to you.
- Ongoing provider-guided support. Your subscription bills monthly and includes continued access to provider-guided support and follow-up.
Each step is explained in more detail below.
Step 1: Complete Your Intake Questionnaire
You begin by creating an account and completing an online health questionnaire for the program you are interested in — for example, compounded GLP-1 weight management, compounded NAD+ for healthy aging support, a peptide program, testosterone support, hair growth, or hormone support.
The questionnaire asks about your health goals, medical history, current medications and allergies, and other information a provider needs to evaluate your request. For some programs, you may be asked to provide height and weight (used to calculate BMI as one screening measure) or to complete at-home laboratory testing through [CLIA LAB PARTNER].
Please answer every question completely and accurately. The provider relies on the information you supply to make a safe and appropriate decision. Providing incomplete or inaccurate information may delay your review or lead a provider to determine that treatment is not appropriate.
Completing the questionnaire does not create a doctor-patient relationship on its own and does not mean you will receive a prescription.
Step 2: A Licensed Provider Reviews Your Information
After you submit your intake, an independent, state-licensed healthcare provider affiliated with [AFFILIATED MEDICAL GROUP] reviews your information through telemedicine. Depending on your state and program, the review may be conducted asynchronously (the provider reviews your written intake) or may include a live or follow-up consultation. The provider may contact you with follow-up questions or ask for additional information before making a decision.
The provider evaluates whether a treatment is clinically appropriate for you based on your individual health information. Prescribing is at the provider's sole discretion. There is no guarantee that you will receive a prescription or be accepted into a program. A provider may determine that a particular treatment is not appropriate for you, may recommend a different approach, or may advise that you follow up with your local healthcare provider.
Submitting an intake, completing a questionnaire, or paying for a subscription does not guarantee a prescription. All prescribing decisions are made solely by licensed providers based on their independent clinical judgment.
Step 3: If Prescribed, Your Medication Is Dispensed and Shipped
If a provider determines that treatment is appropriate and writes a prescription, that prescription is sent to our independent partner compounding pharmacy.
Your medication is dispensed by [COMPOUNDING PHARMACY], a 503A/503B compounding pharmacy that is LegitScript-certified or NABP-accredited and licensed in [STATES SERVED]. The pharmacy prepares your prescription and ships it to the address on file. You do not select or purchase a specific medication yourself — what is dispensed is determined by the provider's prescription.
Many of the products available through Onsavo are compounded. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality. Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed pharmacy to meet the needs of an individual patient based on a prescription from a licensed provider. Any reference to a branded, FDA-approved medication is provided for general information only and does not mean that a compounded product is the same as, equivalent to, or a substitute for any branded product.
Shipping timelines, handling requirements, and tracking are described in our Shipping Policy. Some medications require specific storage or handling on delivery; instructions are provided with your shipment.
Step 4: Ongoing, Provider-Guided Support and Your Monthly Subscription
Onsavo programs are designed to be provider-guided over time, not a one-time transaction. Where you are accepted into a program, your treatment is supported on an ongoing basis, which may include follow-up check-ins, messaging with the care team, periodic re-evaluation, and — for certain programs such as testosterone support — periodic laboratory monitoring through [CLIA LAB PARTNER].
Your provider may adjust, pause, or discontinue treatment at any time based on their clinical judgment, your progress, and any new information you provide. Please keep your health information current and report any side effects or concerns promptly. Do not start, stop, or change a prescribed treatment without consulting a licensed provider.
Subscriptions bill monthly. Your card is charged on a recurring monthly basis for as long as your subscription remains active. To avoid being charged for the next cycle, you must cancel at least [X] days before your next monthly billing date. You can cancel at any time, subject to that cancellation window. Full billing, cancellation, and refund details are set out in our Terms & Conditions and Refund & Cancellation Policy.

A Note on Provider Credentials
Onsavo works with independent, state-licensed healthcare providers affiliated with [AFFILIATED MEDICAL GROUP]. Specific provider credentials, including any "board-certified" status, will only be described where they can be verified and attributed to a named provider or group. (Drafting note for [ONSAVO LEGAL ENTITY]: do not publish "board-certified" language unless you can verify and, where appropriate, name the specific providers or group to which it applies.)
What This Process Is Not
Onsavo is not designed for medical emergencies and does not provide emergency or urgent care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or others, call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. Messages sent through the platform are not monitored on a real-time or 24/7 basis.
The information on this page and elsewhere on the Onsavo website is for general informational purposes only and is not medical advice. Individual results vary, and there is no assurance that any individual will achieve any particular result or be a candidate for treatment.
